Solicitor's License

Broomfield Municipal Code - Chapter 5-20

Description


Any person going door-to-door within the City and County of Broomfield to take orders or to sell anything of value is required to obtain a Solicitor's License, per Broomfield Municipal Code (BMC).

Fees


• New license - $17, valid for one year
• Renewal - $12, valid for one year

Application and Procedure


Take the completed Solicitor's License Application with a copy of a picture identification to the Broomfield Police Department, at which time fingerprints will be taken. As of September 6, 2016, an appointment must be scheduled for fingerprinting.  To book an appointment, please visit our websiteNote:  There is no charge for fingerprinting - this is included in the Solicitor's License fee.  Walk-ins may be accommodated if appointment slots are available.  For questions regarding fingerprinting, please call 303.464.5722.

There is a $17.00 fee for a new Solicitor's License and $12.00 for renewal, which is payable when the application is submitted to the City Clerk's Office. 
 
Fingerprinting is done by the Police Department on the following days and times: 
     Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
     Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
     Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon
Return your application and fingerprint card to the City Clerk's Office.

The Police Department will conduct a background check, which takes approximately 2-3 weeks, but may take longer in some cases.

Following approval, the City Clerk's Office will contact the applicant to come in and have a photo taken for the solicitor's badge. Badges are issued Monday-Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
