Any person going door-to-door within the City and County of Broomfield to take orders or to sell anything of value is required to obtain a Solicitor's License, per Broomfield Municipal Code (BMC).
• New license - $17, valid for one year
• Renewal - $12, valid for one year
Application and Procedure
Take the completed Solicitor's License Application to the Broomfield Police Department, at which time fingerprints will be taken. There is no charge for fingerprinting, it is included in the Solicitor's License fee, which is payable by cash, check, or charge when the application is submitted to the City Clerk's Office.
Fingerprinting is done by the Police Department on the following days and times:
• Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Upon the return of the completed application and fingerprint card to the City Clerk's Office, the Police Department will conduct a background check. This takes approximately two to three weeks, but may take longer in some cases.
Following approval, the City Clerk's Office will contact the applicant to come in for a solicitor's badge. Badges are issued Monday-Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
