As a part of the Community Development Department, the Building Division is responsible for issuing building permits, making inspections, reviewing plans, and enforcing building codes for all construction in the City and County of Broomfield.

New multi-family residential buildings can vary substantially in configuration and construction, therefore often require different permit application forms. 

Large apartment or condominium buildings typically require a new commercial building permit application. 

Townhomes or attached single family homes use a new residential permit application for each unit. 

If the configuration of the proposed construction is not easily categorized, please contact a plans examiner for assistance.
