to the east, I-70 to the south, and Colorado Highway 7 to the north. The
main north/south route through Broomfield is U.S. 287, stretching north to
Fort Collins and south to Denver suburbs.
Denver International Airport (DIA)
is located just 30 minutes from Broomfield, making travel time easy and
convenient. This is the newest and largest international airport in the
world, offering direct non-stop domestic and international flights. Also
located in Broomfield is the Jefferson County Airport, a general aviation
and corporate reliever airport. Jeffco Airport offers businesses
full-service amenities, availability of corporate hangars, fuel, and
maintenance service. The addition of a U.S. Customs office and nearby
hotels makes Jeffco Airport even more convenient for business aircraft.
Broomfield is a hub for the Regional Transportation

The 96th Street Interchange opened in 1996, and

to the Interlocken Advanced Technology Environment, the new campus of Sun
Microsystems, and Storage Technology, and provides easy access to the
regional mall site and the Omni Interlocken Conference Resort. Prime sites

regional mall, will open in 2000 with 1.5 million square feet of retail.
The mall will accommodate up to five anchors, including Dillard’s and
Nordstrom, as well as traditional specialty retailers. The mall is being
developed by Westcor on an 170-acre site on the southwest corner of U.S.
36 and 96th Street.
Broomfield is also home to major
retail chains, as well as many nationally known restaurants and grocery

Environment is building a 393-room, 28,000 square foot conference resort
at the 96th Street Interchange. The Omni Interlocken Conference Resort

including fine dining facilities and a 27-hole championship golf course
designed by David Graham. The conference center and golf course are
scheduled to open in the spring of 1999.
The Community Profile

high schools. Broomfield is privileged to be in close proximity to higher
