  1. Children - Cat's Hat Reading Program

    March 26, 2017, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Children's Library

    All children up to age 12 are invited to participate! Kids can read 3 books at their level, write the titles of the books on a Cat's Hat tally sheet and put it in the Cat's Hat on the desk in the Children's Library. Non-readers may be read to. Tally sheets can be picked up in the Children's Library or downloaded from the Children's Library website after March 1. Enter as many times as you like from March 1 - 31. Entries will be chosen at random after March 31 to receive a Seuss-tastic prize!

  4. Children - Preschool Story Time

    March 28, 2017, 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Children's Library Story Room

    A fun and interactive Story Time for children 3 - 5 years old who can sit on their own. Preschoolers enjoy stories and songs that develop early literacy skills and foster curiosity. Asking children to attend without their caregivers helps to develop a sense of independence that will be needed as they start school. No registration required. Tuesdays, 10:30-11 a.m. And repeated on Thursdays, 1:30-2 p.m. Pick up a ticket and name tag at the Children's Desk beginning a half hour before each story time. *During Spring Break (March 28 & 30) all ages are welcome to attend. Children under 3 must be accompanied by an adult.

  5. Children - Art Stop on the Go

    The Children's Library and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art have teamed up to bring you several art-making workshops. Express yourself through a variety of art media, with the emphasis on creativity and fun! One Tuesday a month: March 28, April 25 and May 23. Registration is required for each workshop.     Practice your spoken English in the Library's conversation groups. The conversation groups are a fun way to improve your English. These classes are for those who use English as a second language and do not specifically emphasize grammar or vocabulary. Conversation groups meet Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. No registration is needed.

    All ages welcome! This program features participatory stories, songs and movement activities geared towards promoting early literacy and building a foundation for a love of books. Age appropriate activities are presented in three segments from younger to older in order to meet the developmental needs of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Transitions are built into the program so younger children can take a break if necessary. Join us for a wonderful shared experience for the whole family! No registration required. Pick up a free ticket at the Children's Desk the morning of the program.

    Eggs-plore the science of embryology as you learn about the life cycle from egg to chicken. CSU Extension-Broomfield County is bringing the hatching of chicks to the Library! Youth and adults will enjoy the thrill of seeing the stages of development as we candle eggs through the stages of the incubation cycle, and see the end result—baby chicks! Families of all ages welcome! No registration required but space is limited.
