Sale Results Certificate of Taxes DueA Certificate of Taxes Due is a
certification that all property taxes have been paid on a property except those
shown on the certificate as still due. This assures the purchaser of the
certificate that there will be no hidden surprises such as prior year delinquent
taxes not shown on the tax rolls. If such a case occurs, the City and
County of Broomfield will take care of any taxes that were omitted from the
certificate.

Statutory Reference: 39-10-102, Colorado Revised Statutes Tax Deferral ApplicationsThe State of Colorado has a program to assist the elderly in
paying their property taxes. Basically, any homeowner over the age of 65
can file for a tax deferral on his or her primary residence. There are
several other qualifications that must be met. Tax deferral
applications must be made to the treasurer (or in our case, with the Central
Records Office) each year. If approved, the State will pay the taxes for
that year and attach a lien to the property. The lien will accrue interest
at a rate set by statute and will become due and payable upon the sale of the
property or the death of the applicant. Applications may be obtained from
the Central Records Office or you may contact us by
e-mail.

Revised Statutes Property Tax/Rent/Heat Rebate Program The Department of Revenue administers a PTC Rebate program. This program is offered to full-year Colorado residents who are age 65 and older (or a surviving spouse at least 58 years of age) or were disabled, regardless of age, during the entire year and their total income for the year did not exceed $11,000 for single and $14,700 for married. There are a few changes to how the rebate will be distributed to applicants. In particular, they will no longer receive one lump sum as they did in previous years. This new law means PTC rebate recipients will receive their rebate in quarterly payment installments throughout the year, depending on when their application is received by the Colorado Department of Revenue. You can obtain further information about this rebate by going directly into the following website.
