Cable Channel 8 Broomfield has been serving the citizens of
Broomfield since the city franchised with Jones Intercable in the 1980's.
The City and County took over the channel in 2003. Channel 8 is the
City and County of Broomfield's municipal government access cable channel
and a service of the City Manager's Office. Channel 8 provides live
televised coverage of the Broomfield City Council meetings which shape our
community. We also produce and air a variety of
original programming including:
Public service announcements
Local News Briefs
Informative shows about city services
Special event coverage
Documentaries
Greater Metro Telecommunications Consortium Programming
Through our programming, we hope to inform and entertain the citizens of
the City and County of Broomfield. The programs 'On The Beat' and 'In
the Works', which
follows Broomfield Police Officers and Public Works staff as they work,
were recently recognized by the National Association of
Telecommunications Officers & Advisors as top governmental programs.
The channel was also recognized for Excellence in Government Programming.
The National Association of
Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) presented
Broomfield's KCCB Channel 8
with a second place award for "Excellence in Government Programming"
in 2007.
