Broomfield Municipal Code, Chapter 2-44 - The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) is charged with making recommendations to the City Council regarding:

• the acquisition of parcels for parks and recreation purposes;

• new and upgraded parks and recreation facilities; and

• a long-range plan for parks and recreation facilities development.

The committee also stays informed of current recreation activities and programs and the needs of the community.

There are seven at-large, City Council-appointed citizens with four- or two-year terms, one ex-officio City Council member and one alternate ex-officio. Openings are advertised each year, followed by City Council interviews. Terms start in April. Current members are:

The next meeting is planned for Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 6 p.m., in the Aspen Conference Room, located just inside the main entrance of the Paul Derda Recreation Center, 13201 Lowell Blvd. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

The Committee helped to create two important policies that have been adopted by Resolution by the City Council. You may review the Rules for League Use of Ball Fields, the Signage Policy for Ball Fields, and the related Council memos.
