The
City of Broomfield will be starting its annual Water
line Replacement Project. Construction crews will
close streets to through traffic during the water line
construction, local traffic will be allowed access.
Parking on the street will be limited too, please be
aware of the temporary "NO
PARKING"
signs around the construction zone.
There are several
steps to the waterline replacement process. The
first step is to install a new water line under the
street and connect the line on one end to the existing
City water system. The next step is a testing
process for clean water and high pressure testing of the
new water line, this will take a week to complete.
During this time the construction crews will move on to
the next street. After the new water line has
passed all testing the construction crews will return
and make water service line transfers from the old water
line to the new. Once all service lines are
connected to the new system and the main line is
connected on both ends construction crews will patch the
street with asphalt.
Any anticipated water
outage will be proceeded by a notice,
"Door
Hanger", 24
hours in advance.
