Philosophy of local government:
Local government "is" the people. The police, fire fighters,
city workers and council members are your next door neighbor.
Local officials must understand and respond to the needs and
desires of the people... their neighbors. It is the
responsibility of local government to manage their neighbors'
money wisely. This means intelligent growth and development as
well as strong fiscal responsibility. It means maintaining the
lifestyle their neighbors have come to enjoy. Most of all, it
means building a lasting future for our children and our
neighbors' children.
