Philosophy of local government:  I believe our local government is for and by the people.  That's why I encourage involvement.  When you dial 911, it isn't the Secret Service or the FBI that responds. It's your local police, fire or paramedics.  Local government affects us all at our front door.  I don't believe government should become any more involved in our personal lives than is absolutely necessary; however, it can be very helpful when disputes within a community or neighborhood arise to insure everyone their personal and property rights.  Codes and enforcement are positive and beneficial to all concerned.  Becoming involved allows you to voice what those should be and how they should be acted upon.

It's important to elect those who can represent us in intergovernmental affairs with our neighboring cities, as well as at the State and Federal levels.  While these matters may not affect our daily lives, the do affect us to a degree that is not so apparent in matters of transportation, safety and health.

I encourage involvement in schools, sports, charity and, most of all, government.  Let your voice be heard.  We can't represent our constituents unless we know what they want.
