Elected by Ward for a 4-year term.
Current term ends November, 2011.
Resident of Broomfield since 1969; married to Barbara ("Bobbi") with 3
grown daughters and 5 grandchildren, all Broomfield residents. Enjoys
grandchildren, friends, civic activities, politics.
Education: AT&T Bell Labs in-company training in Mechanical
Engineering Technology; additional course work in engineering and
computer sciences and continuing education in management.
Occupation/Experience: Retired early from AT&T Bell Labs as manager of
the Design Engineering organization, a multi-group department with
over 120 employees. More recently, provided consulting advice to
businesses on projects that include the U.S. 36/96th St. Interchange,
financing for that interchange, the OMNI Interlocken Resort and golf
course, the recycled wastewater project for landscape irrigation, and
the Northwest Parkway. Presently: part time consultant to the
Interlocken Architectural Control Committee to enforce compliance with
the covenants and standards for design, construction and maintenance.
Prior public service: Jackson Township, N.J. -- Board of Education
board member and president, Planning Commission.
Broomfield -- City Councilmember and Mayor.
Philosophy of local government: Government should be an
easily-accessible tool for citizens to create and sustain the quality
of life that they desire. Its processes and functions should be
fiscally responsible, non-intrusive, efficient, equitable, of high
quality and based on well-thought-out principles of a representative
democracy.
