Art for Awhile is an exciting art on loan program created by
the Broomfield Public Art Committee and approved by the
Broomfield City Council in 2009. Participating artists are
chosen by the Public Art Committee to display their art and
offer it for sale for a predetermined period of time. The
program affords the artist increased public exposure, as
well as
the opportunity to sell their works, with a small percentage
of the sale retained by the Broomfield Public Art Committee
to be used
for the funding of its permanent collection.
There are currently two programs for Art for
Awhile:
Art for Awhile Sculpture Program
Art for Awhile Wall
The west
entrance to the Broomfield Auditorium and Mamie Doud Eisenhower Library
The North Metro Fire District Administration Building Garden
The entrance of the 1STBANK Center
1STBANK
Center Lobby
These areas
afford display for nine large outdoor sculptures in the center of the
Broomfield cultural complex.
This permanent
display space located on the main concourse is reserved for rotating
exhibits. The wall space is used for display, as well as for the sale of
juried art offerings by local and national artists.
