Q. Am I registered to Vote?

Q. How do I become eligible to vote?
A. In order to be eligible to vote, you must reside in the City and
County of Broomfield or have resided at your present address for at least 30 days before an
election. You must register 29 days or more before the
election to be eligible to vote in an upcoming election
(voter registration form).
Q. What if I moved prior to 30 days
before an election?
A. You may still be eligible to vote. If you were
registered to vote at your previous address, that address will be used for
voting purposes. Contact the election office to determine your correct
precinct polling place.
Q. How do I change my address if I have moved?
A. You can either mail the change of address on the online
voter
registration form, or stop in at our office.
Q. Can I change my name, address or party
affiliation over the phone?
A. No, any type of change must be done in writing or on a
voter registration
form, and must include your signature.
Q. How do I register to vote?
A. You may register to vote in person at any election office,
state drivers license office, or public library or print the
voter registration form and mail it to the
City and County of Broomfield elections office.
Q. Will my voter registration be
cancelled, if I don't vote in, or miss any one election?
A. No, if you fail to vote in a any General election, the City and
County of Broomfield elections office will mail you a notification. The
notification will inform you that,
according to our records you did not vote in the last election. By signing and
returning the notification to the elections office, we will update any new
information and keep your registration record active.
Q.
What is Absentee Voting?
A. Absentee voting allows voters to receive a ballot in the mail
prior to the election and return their voted ballot
via the mail or bring in to the City and County of Broomfield election office.
Absentee ballots must be applied for each calendar year and you must indicate
for which election you want a ballot. You must indicate the address to
which you want the ballot mailed
(request an absentee ballot application).
The post office will not forward the ballots.

Q.
What is a Provisional Ballot?
A. Provisional ballots are issued to voters whose names do not appear on the voter registration roles at
the polling place. Provisional ballots will also be issued to voters who
are unable to provide a form of identification at the polling place. The
Clerk and Recorder has up to twelve days following the election to verify
the eligibility of voters. If the provisional voter is determined
eligible, their ballot will be counted. The provisional ballot total will
be included with the election results once this verification process is
complete.

Are the Broomfield
City Council Candidates affiliated with a party?
A. Although individual candidates may be affiliated with a party, according to the City and County of Broomfield
charter, all elected offices are non-partisan. Candidate party affiliation
will not be listed on the ballot.
Q. When I go to vote, do I have to bring
identification with me?
A. Yes, you must bring identification
(list of acceptable forms of identification).
Q. Is there somewhere I can get election
results after 7:00p.m. on election day?
A. The City and County of Broomfield website,
www.broomfield.org/elections will be posting and updating results as
they come in beginning at 7:00p.m. election night.
