Trash Collection/Curbside Recycling

Trash removal is contracted on an individual basis with private solid waste companies. Most of the trash haulers offer curbside recycling. Services, prices and pick-up days vary depending on the hauler you choose.  [Recycle]

If you live within a homeowners association regulated area, contact your homeowner’s association for information on trash removal. List of the Licensed Trash companies in Broomfield.

Tree Limb Recycling Program

Broomfield residents, do you prune your own trees? The City of Broomfield operates a Tree Limb Recycling Program at the Broomfield Recycling Center at 225 Commerce Street in Broomfield (south of the intersection of Hwy 287 and Nickel Street across the railroad tracks).  The Tree Limb recycling program is offered for Broomfield residents only to drop shrubs and tree limbs for recycling. HOURS OF OPERATION:  Due to space constraints with the small drop-off site, the tree-limb drop-off will be open on Saturdays 8AM to 5PM and Wednesdays 1PM to 5PM. The site will be CLOSED at all other times  Only tree branches and shrub branches will be accepted. Please do not bring  trash, sod, grass clippings or other landscape debris including lumber and fence materials. Absolutely no wire, nails or metal of any kind are allowed due to damage to the tub grinder and risk to the operators.  Branches more than 18 inches in diameter must be cut into 4 ft. lengths.  Broomfield Residents only-NO contractors or non-residents, proof of residency will be required at the gate.   The sight is monitored 24-hours by surveillance camera and violators will be prosecuted for illegal dumping under section 8.04.020 of the Broomfield Municipal Code.  Free mulch is available year round at the Broomfield Recycling Center. Bring your shovel and take as much as you need-there is no limit!

Annual Spring Cleanup Event

The City of Broomfield is negotiating a new program this Spring  for Broomfield residents to dispose of large items that the trash haulers do not normally take at the curb.  The new program will provide curbside pick up of large items rather than the drop-off program offered in years past. This program is only offered once a year in the spring.  The next Spring Clean-up will be offered in May 2006.  Watch for advertising in the Broomfield Enterprise beginning in April 2006.  For more information check the Calendar of Events after April 1st for dates, times, MAP and list of materials accepted.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

The City provides annual drop-off days for Broomfield residents to properly dispose of harmful Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). This annual spring event is held in conjunction with the annual Spring Cleanup. The spring event has been scheduled for Saturday May 20th by appointment only.  Please call for an appointment and instructions at 303-438-6336.  Residential waste is accepted only.  By law, no business, commercial, industrial or agricultural waste can be accepted.  Participants will be asked for proof of residency and asked to sign a certification that the wastes they bring are strictly household waste.  Watch for advertising in the Broomfield Enterprise in May 2006.
