2007 SPRING CLEAN-UP
Spring is here and it’s time for the city’s popular Spring Clean Up! To make the program more accessible, residents are no longer be required to haul their material to a drop-off location. (No drop-off locations will be provided.) Instead, the program provides the curbside pick up of all large non-hazardous items, and it’s still free! Western Disposal Services will pick up large items placed at Broomfield residents’ curbs on one of the three designated Saturdays: April 28, May 5, or May 12. Please refer to the map for your designated pick up day. Don't miss your pick up day! There will not be a drop off location. All Spring Cleanup items must be placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the designated Saturday. Western Disposal will not return to a neighborhood for items not at the curb by 7 a.m. What will be picked up? When placing items at the curb, please take care not to block sidewalks or driveways. Items stacked in driveways will not be picked up. Oversize items need to be disassembled so they can be lifted by no more than two people. Items that are too big or too heavy for two men to lift will not be removed. All items must be marked for “Broomfield Cleanup.” Broken glass must be boxed and secured with tape. All other items should be stacked, bagged, boxed or bundled and placed parallel with the sidewalk on the curb. Please remember to secure or remove doors on any item that may pose a safety hazard to small children.
NO Household Hazardous Waste, PLEASE! Broomfield’s Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day is May 19th by appointment only. For more information or to make an appointment, please call 303-438-6336. Western Disposal will sort and recycle scrap metal, unpainted and untreated wood items, and electronic waste from the discards collected. All other items collected will be disposed of as garbage in the solid waste landfill. Please consider saving any re-usable items, and donating them to charity. Contact the local Habitat for Humanity, the ARC store, or your favorite charity to find out what they can accept for donation. YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK! The Spring Clean Up is funded by the City and County of Broomfield to assist residents in discarding oversized items. It is for Broomfield households only. The goals of the program are to keep neighborhoods free of unsightly debris, reduce fire hazards associated with material stored in garages and basements, and reduce illegal dumping of large debris on roads. Business debris, large quantities of construction debris or debris from outside Broomfield city limits will not be picked up. Please direct any questions or comments to 303-438-6334.
