Tree Limb Recycling Program
Broomfield residents, do you prune your own trees? The City and County of Broomfield operates a Tree Limb Recycling Program at the
Broomfield Recycling Center at 225 Commerce Street (south of the intersection of Highway 287 and Nickel Street
across the railroad tracks). The tree Limb recycling program is offered for Broomfield residents only
to drop shrubs and tree limbs for recycling.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Due to space constraints with
the small drop-off site, the tree-limb drop-off will be open on Saturdays, 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The site will
be CLOSED at all other times Only tree branches and shrub branches will be accepted. Please do not bring
trash, sod, grass clippings or other landscape debris including lumber and fence materials. Absolutely no wire, nails or
metal of any kind are allowed due to damage to the tub grinder and risk to the operators.
Branches more than 18 inches
in diameter must be cut into 4-foot lengths. Broomfield Residents only-NO contractors or non-residents, proof of
residency will be required at the gate. The site is monitored
at all times by surveillance camera, and violators will
be prosecuted for illegal dumping under Section 8.04.020 of the Broomfield Municipal Code.
Free mulch is
available year round at the Broomfield Recycling Center. Bring your shovel and take as much as you need—there is
no limit!
Don't Dump—Donate New and Used Items
If you have non-hazardous items that you don't want to end up in the
landfill, consider donating. There are many organizations that accept
your gently-used items. Check the internet or phone directories for
contact information.
Annual Spring Cleanup Event
The City and County of Broomfield provides a program for Broomfield
residents to dispose of large items that the trash haulers do not
normally take at the curb. This program is only offered once a year in
the spring. The dates for 2012 are April 28, May 5, and May 12,
depending on the area of Broomfield in which you live. Watch for details of the 2012 program on this site, in
utility bills, on KCCB Channel 8, and in the Broomfield Enterprise
coming this spring.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
Broomfield provides annual drop-off days for Broomfield residents to
properly dispose of harmful Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), typically
once in the spring and once in the fall. The next event will be in

regional collection facility available to Broomfield residents at no
cost that is open Wednesday through Saturday year-round. See the

Waste Motor Oil/Cooking Oil Recycling Programs
Do you change your own motor oil? Maybe have a turkey fryer and need to dispose of the used oil? Broomfield
residents can participate in the city's waste
oil recycling program operated by the Public Works Fleet Maintenance Division.
