The City and County of Broomfield Fleet Department has recently become fully PACE certified.  PACE, or Partnership for A Cleaner Environment, is an organization that originated from Boulder.  The PACE program is a voluntary, non-regulatory program which offers free pollution prevention education and technical assistance to area businesses and organizations.  You can learn more about this organization by clicking HERE.  Some of the things that we recycle to help us maintain our PACE certification are oil filters, oil, anti-freeze, freon, scrap metals, and aluminum cans.  We also use all environmentally friendly chemicals in our shops.  In keeping with the times, we use re-refined oil which is environmentally safe.  We have a certified company come and haul away our used oil.  They then re-refine this oil.
