This is a Patch Truck. It is used to patch potholes. Hot asphalt is stored in the back and used to fill the holes. Before this truck was acquired, potholes were repaired with a “cold mix” asphalt during the winter months. These were temporary repairs until a hot mix patch could be installed. Having this piece of equipment saves time and money since a permanent hot patch can be made at any time, eliminating repeat repairs at the same location. |
