Family and Children's Services Nurturing Parenting Program
Nurturing Parenting services are offered through the Mental Health Center of Boulder and Broomfield County. The 16-week program is a free, family-centered program designed to help parents develop their nurturing skills. Applications are being accepted now for the next Nurturing Parenting program, which will begin August 17, 2008 and run through December 17, 2008. Classes will be held Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Broomfield Community Center. The program emphasizes the value of unconditional love within the family. The course teaches participants about basic child development and the processes that occur as the child grows. Parents are taught the importance of offering children choices and showing children that they are loved and respected. The research-based program helps parents be more empathetic and more nurturing. Parents of children 0-5 are invited to apply for this program. Free infant and child care will be provided during these classes. To learn more about the program or to apply, please contact Jeanne Franklin at (303) 466-3007. Volunteers are also needed to provide infant and child care during the Wednesday night classes. To volunteer, please contact Jeanne Franklin at (303) 466-3007. For additional resources on nurturing parenting, please visit the following website http://www.nurturingparenting.com/ | ||||||||
