The Operations Division of the Health and Human Services Department is responsible for the day to day operations of the department and is also responsible for Broomfield's Senior Services, Veterans Services and services to the most at-risk citizens.     

Operations Division Programs

Senior Services

Senior Services assists Broomfield's senior citizens through the community services program that provides information, medical / health referrals, community events, and community outreach; the Easy Ride transportation assistance program that provides safe and affordable transportation for Broomfield's senior and disabled residents; and the Senior Nutrition program that includes Lakeshore Cafe's congregate meals, Meals on Wheels, and catering programs. 

Budget and Accounting

All day-to-day accounting processes and budget development for the Department occur within Operations. 

Information Technology

All computer software and hardware utilized in the HHS Department is tracked through Operations.  This includes employee security and access to all state systems that are utilized in the Department's work.

Veterans Services

Broomfield veterans, or their family members may access benefit information and receive referrals to various agencies responsible to provide Veterans benefits.

Volunteer Coordination/Community Resources

This position is responsible for the recruitment and placement of agency volunteers to all HHS programs.  The community resource aspect is responsible for providing agency information and services to the community at large and generating resources and funds to support non-budgeted programs and services to clients.  This position also fosters collaboration among collateral agencies that have mutual clients with HHS.

Tenant-Based Rental Assistance

This grant program provides temporary housing (up to 24 months) to a limited number of families who would otherwise be homeless. The clients are required to participate in activities that include training and counseling to ensure they can sustain employment to become self-sufficient. Contracts/Grants Management

All expenditure and revenue contracts and grants are administered through and monitored by the Operations Division.

Private Non-Profit Funding

Annually, City Council appropriates general funds to distribute to private, non-profit health and/or human service entities through a competitive bid process.  Operations Division oversees the procurement and selection process, contract, and monitoring activities.
