Public Health and Environment Division Land Use / Environmental Impact Review Program Environmental Health services performs environmental health-related land use reviews as part of nearly all land use applications in order to determine whether proposed land use projects are in compliance with state and federal environmental laws, to assess the environmental risk to citizens, and to identify potential environmental liability of any land use projects to the City and County of Broomfield. Major impact use assessments are performed to determine whether sites such as those for quarries, hazardous waste storage facilities, and cement plants comply with state and federal regulations. The program also performs land use reviews at the request of property sellers and lenders to assess property for environmental hazards as part of due diligence prior to a property transfer. At the request of individuals, reviews may also be performed to examine assessments and reports from outside agencies. Oil and gas well decommissioning assessments are performed to determine whether a gas or oil well has been decommissioned in accordance with Broomfield Municipal Code. The Land Use / Environmental Impact Review Program of the Broomfield Public Health and Environment Division provides the following services.
