Onsite Wastewater System Program

Broomfield Public Health and Environment is the agency responsible for permitting, inspecting and enforcing the onsite or individual sewage disposal systems in Broomfield.  Regulation of the Broomfield Sewage Treatment Facility is managed by the Broomfield Utility Operations Division.  If you have questions or concerns related to a sewer service or connection, please contact that division.

Septic system inspections and assessments are required and include an in-depth review of the location, construction, performance, installation, alteration, and use of individual septic systems in accordance with the provisions set forth in statute and the guidelines adopted by the local board of health.

In order to install an onsite wastewater system in Broomfield, the installer must be licensed by Broomfield Public Health and Environment.  For a list of installers for Broomfield, please click here.  To obtain a license, you must pass a written exam.  To schedule a time to take this exam or to obtain additional information on the requirements, please contact Steve Stillwell at 720.887.2293 or sstillwell@broomfield.org.
