Programs Health Promotions works on an ongoing basis to assess Broomfield’s health needs in order to effectively improve the community’s health and ensure the benefits of health are available to all.
Health Promotions also provides initiatives targeted to individuals, groups, and
communities that enhance awareness, change behavior, and create environments
that are conducive to promoting good health, preventing disease, and reducing the risk of

Public Health Clinics and Nursing Programs
Public Health Clinics and Nursing Programs provide nursing services such as Immunizations, Early &
Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, & Testing, Reproductive Health, and
Health Services to Special Needs Children; offers a Travel Clinic;
and assists with Disease and Epidemiology Investigations. Health Care Programs for Children with Special Needs Disease/Epidemiology Investigations Reproductive / Women's Health Confidential Teen Services Helping Our Families by Promoting Empowerment
(HOPE)-Nurse Home Visitation Program Prenatal Weight Gain Campaign Emergency Preparedness and Response Environmental Health Services provides many programs addressing various
environmental issues that impact the health of Broomfield's population.
Through public education and enforcement of State laws, Environmental Health
Services monitors the three main elements of the environment: the food we
eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. Retail Food Service Program Disease Surveillance / Epidemiology Zoonosis / Vector Program
(Animal-related diseases) Child Care Facilities Schools Indoor Air Quality Outdoor Air Quality Water Recreation (public swimming pools and spas) Hazardous Waste Individual Sewage Disposal Systems Drinking Water Systems Emergency Preparedness and Response Land Use / Environmental Impact Review Housing Health Vital Statistics is responsible for collecting data and issuing birth and death
certificates. The collection of health data regarding causes of death, low
birth weights, adolescent pregnancy, and other health trends provides
information about factors, which drive the need for Public Health programs.
Public Health is able to issue copies of birth certificates for anyone born in
Colorado, regardless of the county in which they were born.
The Health and Human Services Department (HHS) issues state certified birth certificates for any individual born in
