International Travel Clinic

Appointments are available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.


The Broomfield HHS Travel Clinic provides information about illnesses and health concerns to ensure a safe and healthy trip whether traveling in the United States or abroad. Travelers are advised to contact the Travel Clinic six weeks before departure and provide their travel itinerary.   A public health nurse will discuss tips on food, water, safety, suggested health supplies to pack and other tips.  Information will be provided about suggested immunizations for the travel destination.  Fees for immunizations and travel consultation vary depending on the services rendered. 

Plan Ahead

Contact the Travel Clinic at least six weeks before your departure.  International travel medications and vaccinations need to be started at least six weeks in advance of the travel date to be fully effective upon arrival at the travel destination.

Travel Clinic Services:

  • Travel Health Consultation

    • A public health nurse will discuss tips on food, water safety, suggested health supplies to pack and other tips to ensure a safe and healthy trip.

  • Group Travel Consultations

    • If you are planning to travel as part of a group, a public health nurse will be happy to meet with the group.  Each member will receive an individualized packet of information.

  • Travel Vaccines

    • A public health nurse will arrange a consultation visit to discuss vaccines that are essential or recommended for a particular travel destination.  The nurse will also review your "childhood" vaccinations.  Some diseases that are no longer a threat in developed countries may pose a serious problem in developing countries. 

    • The risks of certain diseases are higher in other countries, and the travel Clinic offers vaccines for all of the following.  Allow 72 hours to order desired vaccines. 

      • Chicken Pox

      • Rabies

      • Hepatitis A and B

      • Polio

      • Pneumococcal

      • Typhoid Fever

      • Yellow Fever

      • Japanese Encephalitis

      • Meningococcal Meningitis

      • Measles/Mumps/Rubella

      • Tetanus-Diphtheria

      • Malaria
