Broomfield Workforce Center

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Workforce Center do?

The Workforce Center is a free resource for anyone looking for a job.  After completing a simple registration you will have access to our statewide database of job postings, our resource room that contains computers with high-speed internet, copy machines, fax machines and a variety of job related resources.  There is no charge for any of our services.

Can you find me a job?

We can help you find a job.  All of our services are self-directed; you make use of what makes sense for you.  We have people who can help you find job openings, critique your resume, explore the local labor market or even help with short term training.  We are not a temporary agency that can offer you a job.  Please stop by our office to see what we have to offer.

Where can I file for unemployment?

There is no unemployment office.  You have two options to file for Unemployment Insurance.  You can file online at www.colorado.gov/cdle or file by phone at (303) 318-9000.

How can I get registered?

Registering with the Workforce Center can be done either in-person at our office or on the computer by going to www.connectingcolorado.com.  Registration includes giving us your basic contact information, the type of job(s) that you are interested in, and the skill sets that you have.  Once registered in our system you will be able to obtain access to any Workforce Center in Colorado.  For a complete listing of Colorado Workforce Centers visit http://www.coworkforce.com/emp/wfcs.asp.

Do you help with the cost of training or school?

Through our Workforce Investment Act (WIA) we can help with short-term training costs.  Please see our WIA Training Page for more information.  However, if you choose not to apply for WIA you can still meet with our Educational Opportunity Center representative.

What other services do you provide?

We regularly hold on-site hiring events for employers and have a weekly Job Club.  For more information visit our Events page, our Job Seekers page and Additional Resources page.

I've never heard of a Workforce Center, how do I get started?

If you are a Colorado resident, visit www.connectingcolorado.com and register, then stop by our office to see what we have to offer.

I haven't received my Unemployment Insurance check, can you help me?
