ANNOUNCEMENTS

New Carbon Monoxide Detector Law - Beginning July 1, 2009

Colorado House Bill 09-1091 requires that carbon monoxide (CO) alarms/detectors be installed for the following instances for single- and multi-family properties:

    - transfer of rental property

    - transfer of for-sale property

    - interior renovation requiring a building permit

    - new construction

FREE Weatherization - Lower Utility Bills and Make Your Home Safer!
Provided  by Longs Peak Energy Conservation, a division of Boulder County government, through a grant from the Governor's Energy Office

 

 

 

Services - Licensed technicians perform energy audits - check for carbon monoxide poisoning and gas leaks - add insulation (as appropriate) - perform furnace checks, repairs and replacements - air-seal homes - replace refrigerators (as appropriate)

Property Qualification - Properties that have previously received weatherization are ineligible.

Terms of Assistance - Assistance is provided as a grant, FREE to the resident.

Broomfield has a Housing Counselor

Broomfield has its own housing counselor thanks to Boulder County Housing and Human Services Housing Counseling Program. The counselor is available to meet with residents one-on-one in Broomfield to talk budget and credit, pre-purchase readiness, post-purchase planning, mortgage default and foreclosure intervention, and reverse mortgages. To schedule an appointment in Broomfield (or Boulder or Longmont), please call the Boulder County Housing Counseling Program at 720/564-2279 or visit their website at www.bouldercountyhc.org.

Home Buyer Training Course

The Boulder County Housing Counseling Program, a division of Boulder County Housing and Human Services, has consolidated their home buyer training into a one-day course. This monthly course will be held on Saturdays, from 10:00am to 4:30pm. Lunch is provided. Registration is required. Please go to www.bouldercountyhc.org or call 720/564-2279 to register.

Boulder - Boulder County Housing and Human Services Department office, located at 2525 13th St., #204 in Boulder. The office is located approx. 5 blocks north of Pearl St., just east of Broadway.

Longmont - Longmont Senior Center, located at 910 Longs Peak Ave. in Longmont.

Financial Fitness Course

The Boulder County Housing Counseling Program, a division of Boulder County Housing and Human Services, offers a Financial Fitness Course; a 4-part course (Budget, Credit, Banking, Borrowing) to help improve your relationship with money. Learn how to set financial goals and begin working toward them!
