Rehabilitation and Weatherization

Broomfield Housing Authority

THE REHAB PROGRAMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!

 

The City and County of Broomfield offers the following programs to help you fix up your home and increase its energy-efficiency. All properties participating in the program must be located within the City/County limits of Broomfield. The programs include:

Housing Rehabilitation Program

Program Description:  Licensed contractors address building code compliance and health and safety issues, provide accessibility modifications, and make repairs to major systems such as heating, plumbing, electrical and roofing.

Eligibility Requirements:  Participants must owner-occupy the property and meet income, asset and credit requirements.
Loan Terms:  Up to $20,000 may be borrowed. The assistance is in the form of a deferred loan (for households earning between 51% and 80% of the Area Median Income) or a 10-year forgivable loan (for households earning below 50% of the Area Median Income).

Mobile Home Repair Program

Program Description:  Licensed contractors address code compliance and health and safety issues, provide accessibility modifications and make repairs to major systems such as heating, plumbing, electrical, roofing and siding.
Eligibility Requirements: Participants must owner-occupy the property and meet income, asset and credit requirements.
Loan Terms:  Up to $5,000 may be borrowed. The assistance is in the form of a 2-year forgivable loan.

Housing Weatherization Program

 
Program Description:   Weatherization technicians perform energy audits and provide the following services: check for carbon monoxide poisoning and gas leaks; add insulation; perform furnace checks, repairs and replacements; air-seal homes; and replace refrigerators.
Eligibility Requirements:  Participants may be owner-occupants or tenants (with owner's permission). All residents must meet income requirements.
Loan Terms: This program is provided as a grant, at no cost to the resident.
