Broomfield residents can participate in Broomfield's Waste Oil Recycling program operated by the Public Works Fleet Maintenance Division. This year-round program is located at the Norman Smith Service Center at 3001 W. 124th Ave. (just east of Lowell Boulevard). The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month. (If the first Saturday is a holiday, the collection will take place on the second Saturday instead.) For more information, call Fleet Maintenance at 303.438.6336 or email Public Works.

Acceptable types of oil are automotive engine, transmission, and differential, as well as used cooking oil. Other guidelines include:

  • Program is for Broomfield residents only; no oil from commercial businesses accepted.
  • A maximum of five gallons per household per month is allowed.
  • Oils contaminated with fuels, solvents, or water are not accepted.
  • Cooking oils that have solidified, oil filters, and antifreeze cannot be accepted.
  • Users must take back their empty containers.
