About Broomfield Police Patrol Division
Patrol VehicleBroomfield’s Patrol Division is the backbone of the Police Department. Patrol officers are first responders to emergencies. Their sharp eyes and professional actions, together with their collective work with community members on neighborhood problems, help maintain the quality of life that Broomfield residents enjoy.
Broomfield Police officers responded to 31,494 calls for service in 2014, and the Patrol Division handled the majority of those calls. Calls for service are all requests from our citizens for assistance. The requests can be for a wide variety of reasons, including reports of suspicious people, neighborhood problems, or to report a crime.  In addition, Patrol Officers initiated 70,139 citizen contacts on a variety of topics in 2014. These contacts reinforce the community-oriented policing philosophy that governs the Department’s day-to-day activities.

Although the numbers of calls for service continue to increase over the years, the rate of crime in Broomfield continues to remain low. This can be attributed to our citizens who, in many cases, are calling the police for help before a crime occurs and using services in true partnership with the police.
