Citizens' Academy
BPD – INSIDE:  A Trilogy of Time, Training, and Tactics

The citizens' academy provides an opportunity for understanding and interacting with members of the Police Department to enhance partnerships within the community.

‘BPD – Inside’ Academy is a series of three separate blocks. Each block occurs over five consecutive weeks to comprise the complete trilogy.  Block 1, Block 2, and Block 3 contain specific topics of information to encompass all aspects of the Broomfield Police Department over 15 weeks.
  • Block 1 – Patrol and Communications - 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, 4/5, 4/12/17 (Five consecutive weeks), 6:30-9 p.m. at the Broomfield Police Department, 7 DesCombes Drive 
  • Block 2– Investigations, Special Operations, and Specialized Teams - 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31/17 (Five consecutive weeks), 6:30-9 p.m. at the Broomfield Police Department Detention Center and Training Facility, 11600 Ridge Parkway
  • Block 3– Detention, Training, and Emergency Management - 8/16, 8/23, 8/30, 9/6, 9/13/17 (Five consecutive weeks), 6:30-9 p.m. at the Broomfield Police Department Detention Center and Training Facility, 11600 Ridge Parkway

Registration is required!  You must complete an application (minimum age is 16).  A background check will be conducted and you will be notified of your acceptance and reservation in the class.
