Graph iconIf you are interested in making changes to help your business become more water efficient but don’t know where to start, request a free Commercial Water Assessment. Broomfield, along with 22 Colorado communities, has partnered with the Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC) to help you learn where you are using water and how to use it more efficiently. Broomfield has contracted for a limited number of assessments that will be performed by the CRC on a first come, first served basis. Assessments may be scheduled online using the links below, or by contacting CRC by phone at 303.999.3824.

Indoor Water Assessment: Now Available to Commercial Customers Year-Round!

The Slow the Flow Indoors program is designed to reduce indoor water use by providing free indoor water assessments to eligible commercial properties within the service area of the City and County of Broomfield. During an indoor water assessment, a trained technician from CRC's "Slow the Flow" team will test all your fixtures and appliances for flow rate efficiency and deliver custom recommendations for possible improvements in a customized Water Conservation Action Plan.

Businesses that receive the assessment can also receive samply high-efficiency faucet aerators, showheads, and pre-rinse spray valves. Expected savings range from $100 to $10,000 per year, depending on variables like number and age of fixtures and the size of your business.

The Action Plan for commercial customers includes:
  • recommended upgrades for water and energy savings;
  • cost savings and payback periods for recommended upgrades; and
  • rebate opportunities from the City and County of Broomfield.

Businesses that participate in the commercial water assessments:
  • reduce water and utility bills;
  • receive recommendations on appropriate infrastructure and appliance upgrades;
  • reach sustainability goals, and
  • become a better community member by reducing demand on local resources.

This assessment is free to commercial customers. As part of the free assessment, CRC can do an analysis of your last 12-14 months of your water use data. The data may show where there is potential for water savings. If you request an assessment, CRC will ask you to sign a release to allow the city to provide these records.

The amount of runoff associated with inefficient irrigation and improper watering practices can be significantly reduced. This helps avoid damage to sidewalks and streets and also results in improved stormwater quality.
