Library staff can inform patrons about the status of items not on the shelf, of items charged to them, plus fines or holds on their record.

Renewals

You will need your library card number to renew items. Library materials, except for magazines, may be renewed once.

• Call 303-938-1684 to renew by phone
• Visit www.broomfieldlibrary.org and click on "Library Catalog" and View your patron record" to renew online. Or click here for online renewal.
• Items will not renew if 1) there is a hold on the item, 2) the item is overdue, 3) you have fines exceeding $5 or 4) your library card has expired.

Book Return:

When the library is closed you may return books to the outside book drop located next to the front entrance or at the drive-up book drop. Books may also be returned to other libraries in the area. They will be returned to Broomfield via the Central Colorado Library System courier.

Overdues:

There is a fine of ten cents per day for each overdue item with the exception of periodicals which are twenty-five cents fine for each day overdue, and videos/dvds which are $1.00 per day. Juvenile magazines have a fine of ten cents per day.

Holds or Requests:

You may place a hold on circulating library materials which are not immediately available. Holds may not be placed on magazines. You will be called when the item is available to be picked-up at the library. There is no charge for reserving materials. 

You may call to see if a particular item is available in the library. If available, materials can be held for you to pick-up at the Circulation Desk. Items will be held until close of the following day.

To place a hold or check for available materials, please call the Circulation Desk at 720.887.2350 or 720.887.2300. You may also request items and place holds via library computers or through the Internet from home. This can be done by using the Request Tab for local libraries or the Search Prospector button for a wider database of area libraries. You will need your library card barcode number to place a hold.
