How to Write a Poem a Day (in 15 Minutes) and Get It Published
Presented by Bill Roberts

Info: Bill Roberts is a retired nuclear scientist who has written ten thousand poems in the last 15 years - a thousand have been published online or in small-press magazines.  Last year (2009), Bill had over 100 poems accepted for publication - one nominated for a Pushcart Prize, another for Best of the Net poem of the year.  He can show you how easy it is to write a poem, more difficult however to get it published....but there is a method!  He lives quietly with one wife and two spoiled dogs too near the edge of Broomfield.  Adults only please.

Info: This event will feature a variety of poems in both their original languages and in English. Poetry will be presented in Latin, Spanish, French, German and Russian. Violinist Kailin Yong will end the evening with Mandarin poetry and music.

Info: Performance art followed by Open mic. Enjoy harmonica poetry by M.D. Friedman and slam poetry with Andrea Moore. M. D. Friedman is a poet, teacher, musician, photographer, digital artist and web master. His fourth book of poetry, Where We Reach, was recently released and combines his poetry with his original photographs and artwork. He is the founder of the Internet Poets’ Cooperative website which features over 20 free volumes of e-books from poets around the world and over 200 free audio recordings of dozens of Colorado poets reading their own work.  Andrea Moore is a poet, theatre artist and photographer. She competed at the national level as part of the Colorado Poetry Slam Team in 2000. She is the co-founder of No One Way Arts Collaborative. Due to adult content this program is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Poetry 101 for Adults-Tips, Tricks and Truths with local poet Karen Douglass

Info: During these two hours we will uncover tips for developing a writing process, tricks to increase the depth and energy of original poems, and truths about claiming and living with the name Poet.
