How a Colorado Aviation Pioneer Made the Skies Safer for Everyone

Thursday, March 29 @ 7 p.m. Capt. Jepp and the Little Black Book is a fascinating look at the early days of flying and the life of this formerly unsung hero of the skies.  In 1990, Elrey B. Jeppesen was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame; and in 1995 the main terminal of the new Denver International Airport was named in his honor. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

English Language Classes
The Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library offers beginning, intermediate and advanced classes English Language Classes. These classes focus on vocabulary, grammar and reading. ( A new session started September 12, 2011.)

Conversation Groups
Practice your spoken English in the Library's conversation groups. The conversation groups are a fun way to improve your English and learn more about life in the United States. These classes are not English as a Second Language classes and do not specifically emphasize grammar or vocabulary.

Groups meet Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays at 10 a.m. September 14, 2011-May 4, 2012. (Summer break starts May 5, 2012.) No registration needed. Come anytime!

Literacy Tutoring
The Adult Learning Program offers one-to-one tutoring for adults wishing to improve their reading skills. Tutoring is provided by a trained volunteer.
