Monthly Summer Programs

Teen Advisory Board
1st and 3rd Mondays, 4-5 p.m. in the Eisenhower room.

Teens in grades 6-12 are welcome to join TAB and help plan library programs, write for The 411: Teen Zone Newsletter, and make recommendations for teen books, music, and videos. Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 4-5 p.m. in the 1st floor conference room of the library. Stop by the Teen Zone for an application.

Knitting Club
1st Saturdays from
10 a.m. - noon in the Teen Zone

Join us in the Teen Zone for a monthly knitting session. We'll meet on the 1st Saturday of every month. All levels of knitters are welcome. If you don't have any knitting supplies, we've some to lend to you.

Write Out!
Teen Writers' Group
3rd Sundays from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone Study Room

Want to be nurtured as a writer? Join our new group, Write Out. We will write, share (no critiquing), and discuss our writing process.

Anime Showings
1st Tuesdays from
6-8 p.m.

Looking for something cool to do? Grab some friends and watch Anime on the library's big screen. Don't miss out! Anime showings are on the 1st Tuesday of each month in the Eisenhower Meeting Room on the second floor of the library. Registration is required and parental permission may be necessary for PG-13 showings.

Ready, Set, Go!
2nd Sundays from 2-4 p.m. in the Eisenhower Room

Enjoy casual play of chess and checkers or learn to play Go, the strategic board game that people have played around the world for many years. Instructors will be on hand. For ages 9-adult.

Tuesday, June 10, 2-4 p.m.

Kick off the Summer Reading Program and strum along with your friends. We have the guitars - you have the skills. Come rock out at the library!!

Words to Music
Friday, June 20, 2-4 p.m.

Do the words come first or the melody? Either way, you can put pen to paper and compose a song out of that tune in your head. Songwriter Mohammed Alidu will show you how.

Karaoke Revolution
Friday, June 27, 6-8 p.m.

It's a PS2...it's a microphone...it's Library Idol! Bring a friend and your voice to this program where you can sing along with your choice of popular songs.

Square Roots
Sunday, June 29, 6-8 p.m.

Allemande Left and do-si-do! Check out this square dancing program. We'll have a live caller and a live band. You'll learn the steps to dance the night away. Program will be held in the Broomfield Auditorium.

Summer Tour: Unplugged

Singers, musicians, and dancers are invited to get unplugged at the library. Sign up for this open mic session and get your 5 minutes of fame.

Hip Hop Dance

When you hear that beat do you start to groove? If you bustamove when the bass kicks in, this program is for you. Learn hip hop moves from instructor Hugo Sayles.

Totally Tubular Tunes
Wednesday, July 23, 2-4 p.m.

The clothes, the big hair, the music - what's not to love about the 80's? Get into character and bring back the music by making a lip sync music video.

Summer Salsa
Tuesday, July 29, 2-4 p.m.

Spice up your summer with this afternoon dance class on Salas and Latin swing. Taught by the Casablanca Dance Studio.

Just Didgeridoo-It!
Friday, August 1, 2-4p.m.

A didgeri-what? Come make your very own didgeridoo, a wind instrument of the indigenous Australians of northern Australia and learn how to play it. Program will be taught by Michael Stanwood.

Rock Band Showdown
Saturday, August 2, 6-9 p.m.

Grab a group of friends and see how you stack up at this Rock Band talent show. We'll provide all of the gaming gear; you provide the talent.

Films 2008

Films will be shown in the Eisenhower Room of the library. Bring your own snacks and drinks. Open to all ages. Children under 12 must come with someone over 13. Permission required for PG-13 films.
