Broomfield’s Master
Gardeners ready
to answer questions
Beginning April 14,
Broomfield residents can call the county’s newly graduated class of Colorado
State University Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners with questions about
gardening or horticulture.
The Master Gardeners,
who have received 50 hours of training on plant, tree and lawn care, soils,
water-wise gardening, insects and diseases of plants, will be available by
telephone each Monday afternoon through June 30, to assist with gardening or
horticulture problems. The number to call is 303.469.3301, ext. 6738.
Are you wondering what
to do with your lawn in the midst of drought and watering restrictions?
Should you fertilize and aerate? Should you replace your flowerbed with a
xeriscape garden? And, what is a xeriscape garden anyway? Would you like to
know what causes the spots on the leaves of your trees? What should you do
with trees damaged during the March blizzard? Answers to these and other
horticulture questions will be forthcoming from Broomfield’s first class of
Master Gardeners.
Answers to many frequently
asked gardening and landscape questions are also available by calling Planttalk
Colorado™ at 1-888-666-3063 or visiting

University Cooperative Extension, Denver Botanic gardens, and the Green
Industries of Colorado.
