Extended PixPal Exhibit Viewing Hours at Broomfield Auditorium

The Pixelated Palette & Paintbrush Invitational Exhibit (PixPal) will be open to the public to view in the lobby of the Broomfield Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following Saturdays: April 26, May 3, May 10 and May 17.  This exhibit can also be viewed during scheduled public events in the Broomfield Auditorium.

The PixPal exhibit is the first exhibit of visual art in Broomfield’s newest cultural facility. The exhibit opened April 8 and closes May 18.

The exhibit space is located adjacent to the 295-seat Broomfield Auditorium, located next to the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library at 3 Community Park Road, northwest of Lamar and First Avenue in Broomfield, CO.

The idea for Pixelated Palette & Paintbrush is to promote digital paintings by regional artists. To date, artists participating include Eulalie Brown, Ann Bunn, Steven Friedman, Christine Gabrielle Graziano, Lanse  Kleaveland, Ann-Marie Kuczun, Michael Arnold Mages, Mark Newkirk, Sandra Newkirk, Kate O'Kami, Gail L. Pepin, Mary (Polly) Phillips and Charlotte Ziebarth.

These fine artists, photographers, craftsmen and musicians started out using traditional studio materials and techniques but now include the computer as another tool to create their work.  The paintings range from representational (figurative, landscape or collage) to the abstract and use various materials including paper, canvas, boards or fabric as the substrates.

The exhibit is sponsored by the City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs Division, established in 2001 to oversee development of the performing and visual arts for the Broomfield community. Event information can also be found on the “Events Calendar” link of the City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs website at: www.ci.broomfield.co.us/cultural

This fully accessible cultural facility can be reached via the West 120th Avenue exit from I-25 or the 287/121 exit from US Highway 36.  Free parking is available in the facility parking lot. Directions to the facility are available on the City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs website at: www.ci.broomfield.co.us/cultural or by calling the Cultural Affairs Hotline at 303.469.3301 ext 7999.
