CU Art Galleries Exhibit at Broomfield Auditorium-Library

Garo Antreasian: Master Printmaker is the newest exhibit open to the public in the main lobby of the Broomfield Auditorium-Library complex in the City and County of Broomfield, Colorado.  This exhibit is the second show of visual art in Broomfield’s newest cultural and educational facility.

The Garo Antreasian: Master Printmaker exhibit is open daily from June 4 through August 18 during regular library hours (Mon-Thu, 9 a.m. -9 p.m.; Fri, 9 a.m.-7p.m.; Sat, 9 a.m. -5 p.m.; and Sun, 1-5 p.m.).  The building is closed on July 4.

The lobby exhibit area is located between the Broomfield Auditorium and the adjacent Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library at 3 Community Park Road northwest of Lamar and First Avenue in Broomfield, CO.

The Garo Antreasian: Master Printmaker exhibit is sponsored by the City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs Division, in conjunction with the CU Art Galleries-University of Colorado at Boulder which provided the text for the exhibit.

The exhibit features ten, colorful lithographs from the “Fragment Series” portfolio, spanning 28 years of Garo Antreasian’s career—an artist considered the most pivotal figure in the renaissance of American printmaking in the 1960s.  The examples displayed in this exhibit reflect the artist’s training as an abstract expressionist painter and later influences of minimalist art and abstract imagery.

The City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs Division was established in 2001 to oversee development of the performing and visual arts for the Broomfield community. Cultural program and event information can be found on the division’s website at: www.ci.broomfield.co.us/cultural or by calling the Cultural Affairs Hotline at: 303.469.3301 ext 7999.

The Broomfield Auditorium-Library facility is fully accessible and can be reached via the West 120th Avenue exit from I-25 or the 287/121 exit from US Highway 36.  Free parking is available in the facility parking lot. Directions to the facility are available on the City and County of Broomfield Cultural Affairs website at:  www.ci.broomfield.co.us/cultural or by calling the Cultural Affairs Hotline at 303.469.3301 ext 7999.
