Media Release March 3, 2003 Media Contacts: Rosann Doran Reminder: Broomfield’s water restrictions are still in placeDespite February’s last 10 days of typical Colorado winter weather, featuring days alternating snow and sunshine, city officials remind Broomfield residents that the drought isn’t over yet. Mountain reservoirs holding Broomfield’s water rights are still low, and estimates indicate it will take several years of normal or above normal precipitation to fill them up again. Broomfield’s winter watering restrictions are still in effect. All outside turf watering is prohibited through March and April. Only hand watering of trees and shrubs is permitted. Spring/summer watering restrictions are being drafted for City Council’s consideration in April. Residents will be notified of the new restrictions prior to their implementation in May or June.
