Fall prevention assessments for older adults

Broomfield Health and Human Services Department, in conjunction with the Colorado Trust Foundation, is offering a comprehensive senior fall prevention program for adults aged 60 years and older.

The program teaches fall prevention by offering a free comprehensive fall risk assessment in their homes. This assessment provides an integrated, cost effective approach to fall prevention. Broomfield’s program is regarded as a state-of-the-art, best practices model within fall prevention programs.

City seeks non-profit funding requests

Non-profit organizations serving Broomfield residents or sponsoring special events in Broomfield may apply for funding in Broomfield’s 2004 budget. Deadline for application is Friday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. Funding will be granted upon approval of the City and County’s 2004 budget in November.

Let’s talk shopping

Broomfield will be hosting a series of meetings with small business owners in the city to discuss how best to promote local retail shops to increase market share and keep local dollars in town. All are invited. Meetings are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 9:30 a.m. at the Broomfield Municipal Center, and Thursday, Aug. 7 and Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the Broomfield Senior Center.
