BriefsFall prevention assessments for older adultsBroomfield Health and Human Services Department, in conjunction with the Colorado Trust Foundation, is offering a comprehensive senior fall prevention program for adults aged 60 years and older. The program teaches fall prevention by offering a free comprehensive fall risk assessment in their homes. This assessment provides an integrated, cost effective approach to fall prevention. Broomfield’s program is regarded as a state-of-the-art, best practices model within fall prevention programs. City seeks non-profit funding requestsNon-profit organizations serving Broomfield residents or sponsoring special events in Broomfield may apply for funding in Broomfield’s 2004 budget. Deadline for application is Friday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. Funding will be granted upon approval of the City and County’s 2004 budget in November. Let’s talk shoppingBroomfield will be hosting a series of meetings with small business owners in the city to discuss how best to promote local retail shops to increase market share and keep local dollars in town.
