Briefs2004 Budget Public HearingBroomfield’s 2004 City and County Budget will be adopted soon. Broomfield’s Charter requires “A public hearing on the proposed budget and proposed capital program shall be held before its final adoption…” Residents are invited to comment on the proposed 2004 City-County budget during the next regular City Council meeting: Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003 beginning at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, Broomfield Municipal Center, One DesCombes Drive. Residents are encouraged to attend! Anyone wishing to review the draft budget prior to the public hearing may visit the City and County Manager’s Office in the Broomfield Municipal Center, second floor. The ordinance will impose a partial smoking ban within the City and County of Broomfield, restricting smoking in restaurants that do not have separate ventilated rooms for smokers and prohibiting smoking in ticket lines. These restrictions would not apply to bars and private clubs. The public is encouraged to attend the hearing to testify on this matter.
