Briefs'Birth of a County' to air on Channel 8To commemorate the November 15 second anniversary of Broomfield’s birth as a combined city and county, Broomfield’s KCCB Channel 8 will air “Creation of a County,” an original documentary narrated by former Denver news reporter, John Lindsey. The two-hour show will be shown in its entirety at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the anniversary date, November 15. This historical occasion is remembered through the eyes and hearts of those who contributed to this unique event. Interviews with legislators, council members, former mayors, city staff and community activists provide a thought-provoking look at what it took to carve out the new county in Colorado – a feat not seen in 98 years! The project was locally produced and edited for Channel 8 by Broomfield's Omni Services. The documentary will be re-broadcast at 6:30 p.m. throughout the week as follows:
Open house will review Enhancement Plan for The FieldResidents are invited to attend an open house to review the design plan for trails, landscaping, an overlook, and a picnic area as provided in the approved master plan for the Field open space. The meetings are scheduled Thursday, Nov. 20 – one at 10:30 a.m. and one at 2 p.m. Both meetings are scheduled in the Broomfield Auditorium, 3 Community Park Rd. Broomfield officials will be on hand to explain the ordinance, and experts on ventilation systems will be available. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions. Since the new smoking ordinance goes into effect April 21, 2004, these meetings have been scheduled to give restaurant and tavern owners ample time to make business decisions. | ||||||||||
