New program line-up for Broomfield channel 8 A new look for Broomfield’s government channel 8 on the Comcast system started Monday, Jan. 24. According to Kim Greason, manager of video production, channel 8 will have much of the same programming, but will include a few new shows, including some produced locally by Broomfield staff. Times for familiar Channel 8 shows have been rescheduled into a more varied line-up to allow viewers the chance to see programs previously scheduled at the same times every day. Coming soon is what Greason calls a “Broomfield Cops” style segment to feature an inside look at a shift with a Broomfield police officer in a “ride-along” format. Also on the drawing board are a new format for “Inside Broomfield” segments, and a feature on the new dog park. Another new show is also a short public safety announcement on wildlife in Broomfield which is geared toward educating old and new residents about co-existing with the urban wildlife that also calls Broomfield home. From the Annenberg Foundation series are two offerings: “Democracy in America,” "Growing Old in a New Age,” and a third, “Health and Home Report” is from Westglen Productions. | ||||||||||
