Buzek snags appointment to national steering committee Broomfield Councilmember Vince Buzek, Ward 3, has been appointed to the National League of Cities Public Safety and Crime Prevention Steering Committee in Washington, D.C. This committee of 35 elected officials from around the country is responsible for preparing and advocating national policy on topics from homeland security to local public safety issues. In his role on the committee, Buzek hopes to ensure that policies and laws enacted in Washington are beneficial for the citizens of Colorado and Broomfield. Buzek, excited by this new appointment, says “I am proud to represent the citizens of Broomfield and of Colorado on this important national committee. My goal is to ensure that communities like Broomfield, and others across the nation, have everything they need to face the challenges of providing a safe, secure environment for its citizens.” Buzek begins work on the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Steering Committee at the National League of Cities’ Congressional Conference in Washington, D.C. this March. | ||||||||||
