‘It’s National Nutrition Month: get a taste for nutrition! To celebrate National Nutrition Month, Broomfield Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Children’s Library will partner to promote this year’s theme “Get a Taste for Nutrition.” The library will present a special nutrition theme, “Healthy Food for Me,” during preschool story times on March 8 and 10. While the children are listening and learning about foods that promote good health, Rene Lindeen, R.D., registered dietitian and HHS public health nutritionist, will host an “ask the dietitian” session for parents who will be invited to ask questions and/or express concerns about their children’s nutritional habits. HHS encourages Broomfield parents of preschool age children to take part in this fun event and learn more about the importance of healthy eating and being active together as a family. For more information on National Nutrition Month visit the American Dietetic Association’s Web site at http://www.eatright.org. | ||||||||||
