Cox receives NLC leadership honors (BROOMFIELD, Colo.) Ward 2 City Councilmember Lori Cox will be recognized by the National League of Cities (NLC) for reaching Bronze and Silver levels in its Certificate of Achievement in Leadership program. The NLC Leadership Training Council will make the presentation in Washington, D.C. at the annual Congressional City Conference next week. Cox is one of fewer than 350 NLC members to reach the Bronze level and one of fewer than 110 NLC members to reach the Silver level in the Certificate of Achievement in Leadership program. As part of the NLC mission to create stronger communities, the Leadership Training Institute provides local city officials with professional development opportunities that accentuate the vital personal skills and abilities needed to facilitate positive change and innovation within their local communities. The certificate levels are achieved by local city officials as they earn credits in all five of the core competency areas of municipal leadership. NLC members earn credit by successfully completing professional leadership development and training seminars sponsored by the Institute. | ||||||||||
