Baskett accepts Broomfield transportation post Debra Baskett, director of the U.S. 36 Transportation Mobility Organization, will join the City and County of Broomfield as Transportation Manager, a new position created this year. As Transportation Manager, Baskett will be responsible for development and administration of Broomfield’s transportation planning activities. She will assume her duties with Broomfield in early July. Baskett founded the U.S. 36 Transportation Mobility Organization (TMO). She has 20 years of experience developing cutting-edge solutions to traffic and air quality problems. Her expertise includes integrating land use, air quality and transportation issues to support local and regional planning and implementation initiatives. According to Assistant City and County Manager for Community Development Kevin Standbridge, Baskett will play a key role in Broomfield's continued efforts with the federal, state and regional governments as Broomfield seeks solutions to local and regional transportation issues, and a key role with the Mayor, City Council and senior staff in Broomfield. Baskett is a graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo where she earned a bachelors degree in psychology and sociology. She earned a masters degree in architecture at the University of Colorado at Denver.
She has previously worked for the City of Boulder and the Regional Air Quality Council. She also held positions at RTD, the City of Denver and the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce. She has served as a member of the Denver Regional Council of Governments Transportation Advisory Committee and is knowledgeable about transportation priorities in Broomfield and the north metro region.
