Recycling Center to close for repairs

Broomfield’s Recycling Center is getting a new parking lot, and to accommodate the construction work, the center will be closed from August 8 to 21, 2005.

Construction work will begin August 1 on the south side of the building, so traffic will be rerouted in the area on the north side of the building until August 8.

The closure is necessary for safety considerations during the removal of the existing surface and reconstruction of the site drainage and parking lot. Residents are asked to plan to drop recyclables before August 8, or wait to resume recycling after August 21.

Your patience and understanding are appreciated during this much needed improvement project.

The tree limb recycling drop-off will also be affected by this project.  The site will remain open on Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but access to the site will be through the north gate on Industrial Lane only.

Due to visibility constraints, residents are asked to use extra care entering and exiting through this temporary access point. An extra traffic control person will be scheduled to work on the Saturdays during construction (August 6 and 13) to ensure safe access to the site.

Please direct any inquiries regarding this project to 303-438-6390. The Broomfield Recycling Center is located at 225 Commerce St., south of the 120th Avenue and Nickel Street intersection.
