CONEZONE

 The following information represents planned construction activity scheduled by Broomfield that will affect traffic for the week ending August 5 and beyond.  All construction will proceed weather permitting. Motorists are asked to keep in mind that any unanticipated emergencies are not scheduled and could also affect traffic flow until the needed repairs are complete. 

July 25-August 2: Asphalt Specialties is road patching for the 2005 overlay program. Streets affected are Lowell between 128th and 136th, Ash Street from 11th Avenue to Midway.  Lane closures can be expected, but with minimal delays.  Aspen Street from 136th to 144th and Dillon Road will experience lane closures and lengthy delays.  Alternate route is advised.  Traffic will be managed by flaggers.   

July 28 through Aug. 10: Asphalt Specialties is conducting milling operations on Lowell Boulevard from W. 128th Ave to W. 136th Avenue, southbound lanes only, Zuni Street, southbound lanes only from W. 128th to W. 136th and Ash Street from 11th to Midway. Traffic may experience slight delays.  Traffic control will be managed by flaggers. 

Aug. 4-26: paving on Lowell between 128th and 136th, Zuni from 128th to 136th, Ash from 11th to Midway. 

Traffic can expect lane closures but minimal delays.  Aspen Street between 136th to 144th and Dillon Road from Aspen Street to the city limit will experience lane closures and lengthy delays.  Alternate routs are advised.  Traffic control will be managed by flaggers.

Lowell Boulevard: at 160th Avenue, street construction continues. Expect detours.  

Tennyson Street: from 160th north to Colorado 7, site work continues.  Flagger controlled crossings can be expected with minor delays not lasting more than five minutes. 

160th Avenue between Huron and Lowell: area site work with hauling continues.  Flaggers control traffic.  Minor delays not more than five minutes can be expected. 

Sheridan Boulevard: construction between 9th Avenue and Aspen Creek Drive will be heaviest at the intersections of Sheridan and 13th and Sheridan and 136th. The west half of the intersection at 13th Avenue and Sheridan is closed to traffic.  Expect traffic alignment changes and traffic delays at 136th Avenue. 

Westlake: street reconstruction and waterline work continues on West 134th Way, West 134th Circle, West 134th Court and West 134th Place.  Traffic will be redirected and parking may be limited in certain areas. 

Broomfield County Commons Open Space work has started. The area is closed to the public for trail construction and site improvements.  For your safety, please respect posted signs.  The parking lot at Tom Frost Reservoir will remain open. 

The Colorado Department of Transportation reports that southbound and northbound traffic on I-25 from Colorado 7 to 120th Avenue continues to be affected by paving operations.  Speed is reduced through the work zone to 55 mph.
