Mayor Stuart, Erickson, Ahrens retained;
newcomers Gaiser, McCloskey, Kenyon win

BROOMFIELD - In Tuesday’s election here, Mayor Karen Stuart and Councilmember Randy Ahrens, representing Ward 4, were re-elected with 51 and 60 percent of the vote, respectively. Councilmember Bette Erickson, who ran unopposed, will continue as Ward 3 representative

 Newly elected to the City Council are Bob Gaiser in Ward 1, Dennis McCloskey in Ward 2, and Brian Kenyon in Ward 5. 

McCloskey and Kenyon replace Clark Griep and Ralph Johnson, who were term limited.  Griep challenged Stuart for the mayoral post.  

Broomfield’s elections are non-partisan.  The newly elected officials will be sworn in at the November 15 City Council meeting.  The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City and County Building, 1 DesCombes Drive in Broomfield.
